WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE?
Brink wants to rustle some feathers, start passionate conversations and create some seriously hot theatre that will impact audiences, challenge minds and open hearts.
We have some thrilling new works and programs brewing and we need some backing to kick them into gear and get them closer to South Australian and national stages.
$5K – SUPPORT A SCRIPT ADAPTATION –
SOMEONE YOU KNOW
We need $15k to commission the adaptation of Maria Pallotta-Chiarolli’s memoir Someone You Know by emerging South Australian playwright Anthony Nocera. Some special Brink friends have kick-started the process, and we only have $5k left to raise! Read more about this work in development and Anthony Nocera.
$10K – SUPPORT TWO SCRIPT WORKSHOPS WITH ACTORS –
FIRST NATIONS FELLOWSHIP
Our inaugural First Nations Fellows Jannali Jones and Sonya Rankine have been placed as resident artists within Brink, to be supported creatively and professionally in the development of their playwriting/storytelling artistic practice.
With the mentorship of Artistic Director Stephen Nicolazzo and First Nations industry professionals, the Fellows will be working on the development of new theatrical work, deepening their creative and industry networks, and each developing a new script within their 12 month placement.
$10k will enable both Fellows to have their stories come to life during a script workshop with actors, as part of transitioning each work from the page to the stage. Learn more about the Fellowship here.
$5k – CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT –
LOVE DON’T LIVE HERE ANYMORE
We are seeking $5k for the initial creative development of Love Don’t Live Here Anymore. A theatrical celebration of post-punk Australia in the 1980s, from award-winning team Christos Tsiolkas, Dan Giovannoni and Stephen Nicolazzo
It’s a backstage drama-comedy that will transport audiences to the euphoria of electronic music gigs at the heart of 80s venues in transgressive Adelaide. Colourful, skanky and queer, with sticky floors, a haze of smoke, and a thumping bass line. Read more about this work in development here.
