In 2025 we are focusing on the re-imagined stage adaptation of the powerful novel and film, 'Looking For Alibrandi A play by Vidya Rajan, based on the book by Melina Marchetta'.
After the original world premiere in 2022 at Malthouse (Melbourne) and Belvoir (Sydney), Brink is re-rehearsing the show and refining some of the technical requirements to ensure a slick 12-venue national tour, with seasons in Adelaide, Parramatta, Gold Coast, Geelong, Hobart, Port Pirie, Whyalla, Renmark, Mount Gambier, Ballarat, Orange and Canberra – taking us all the way through to October.
Brink is heavily investing in the rehearsals and touring legs of this iconic classic, which boldly confronted systemic racism in Australia and sparks crucial conversations about migrant experiences and young women as we believe that countless more people will find resonance in this extraordinary story.
In an era where the digital age often isolates us from meaningful human interaction, it is more important than ever to maintain our humanity. We can achieve this by connecting through our shared life experiences and through the timeless elements that transcend generations, such as love, sex, temptation, grief, conflict, culture, and the discovery of self, and through the visceral connection that live theatre offers us all.

We acknowledge that the land on which we create our stories is the traditional land of the Kaurna people who, for millennia, have been the original storytellers of this land, and we pay our respect to their Elders - past, present and future.
