The Lord's Taverners Northern NSW Branch was officially launched in September 2009. Since then we have made a significant impact in this northern part of our state. Our principal objective is giving the young and disadvantaged a sporting chance.
The Northern NSW region is a large area stretching from Taree to Tweed and west to Collarenebri. In order to avoid becoming Lismore-centric we have contacts in Bellingen, Casino, Coffs Harbour, Goondiwindi, Inverell, Narrabri, Port Macquarie, Tamworth, Taree, Tweed, Wauchope and Woodenbong and we are continually expanding their numbers, roles and responsibilities.
OUR MISSION is to enhance the prospects of disadvantaged and disabled young people using cricket and other forms of sport and recreation to engage with them.
OUR VISION as a charitable association is to raise money to assist underprivileged and disadvantaged children. We provide sporting facilities, equipment and opportunities. The people assisted may be disadvantaged in a number of different ways including financial constraints, geographical isolation, and physical and intellectual disability.
There are 5 main programs on which we focus:
Our Patron, Adam Gilchrist AM states,“I have observed the passion of Branch members at close quarters having enjoyed several functions and events and commend the leadership team on all they have achieved. The work done by so many enthusiastic and energetic leaders has shown just how an organisation can give the young and disadvantaged a sporting chance!”
