We are seeking to grow our capacity to source non grant funds through a combination of donations, social enterprise and social business ventures to enhance our sustainability and ability to continue innovatively respond to the changing needs and aspirations of our community.

SANDBAG or Sandgate and Bracken Ridge Action Group Inc has been connecting, building and supporting individuals with communities and communities with each other for over 23 years in the North East district of the greater Brisbane area.

We are a not for profit place based community initiated and citizen managed incorporated association. We have evolved a range of social programs and initiatives and operate from two locations at Sandgate and Bracken Ridge. Social justice principles and community development approaches underpin our program work which currently includes:

1. Domestic and Family Violence Support and Counselling for aggrieved persons
2. Information and Referral as part of the open door program at the Sandgate Community Centre
3. Disability related community access support
4. SEED PPM a parks and property maintenance social enterprise providing employment for persons who experience marginalisation as a consequence of mental illness, long term unemployment and for other reasons.
5. General counselling and casework support
6. Community development, adult education and social inclusion activities and events
7. Facility hire and associated amenities for general community use and as a function space.

We are a dynamic organisation looking for innovative ways to meet our vision of supporting existing and developing fair and inclusive communities. Support from individuals who believe in the power and strength of community and of the importance of ensuring all people are valued, have voice and can participate in meaningful ways in the life of their communities of interest and or geography is essential to our capacity to continue our ambitious programs of work.

We are recognised by the ATO as a Public Benevolent Institution (PBI) and also have Deductible Gift Recipient status (DGR) and we are registered in Qld as a Charity. We are also registered with the Australian Charities and Not for Profit Commission. We are accredited providers under the Human Services Quality Standards Framework.
