The Beenleigh Scout Group is part to the Australian Scouting Movement Scouting. This movement is focused on the development of local youth and adults for more than 100 years. It is open to both girls and boys and to all faiths and religions. Scouts are in every part of our community, and Scouts is the biggest and most successful youth organisation in Australia and the world.

The Scouting Aim is to encourage the physical, intellectual, social and spiritual development of young people so that they may take a constructive place in society.

The Principles of Scouting are that Scouts serve their God, act in consideration of the needs of others and develop and use their abilities to the betterment of themselves, their families and the community in which they live.

Why are we collecting funds? As a volunteer organisation we need to continuously raise funds so we can provide the programs and activities to meet the Aim and Principles of the movement. Outside of this we have general running costs for facilities and maintenance programs. We are always having to fundraise to meet the costs that our weekly subscription fees and levy do not cover.

The group is also looking to expand and improve the facilities we have at the den, plus purchase necessary equipment when times comes to replacing old and damaged items

How will the funds be used?

The Beenleigh Scout Group will use the funds raised
  • Purchase equipment, new and replacement items, so that the youth and adult members can provide the best opportunities to program effectively and deliver to the Aim and Principles of Scouting
  • Seek to repair and improve our groups building. Our Joey and Venturer Hut requires a new entrance verandah, plus some structural and maintenance improvements
  • Provide opportunities for those youth members who are disadvantaged due to financial reasons with fund to help them come to Scouts and if required attend camps and events like the Australian Jamboree and QLD Cuboree.
  • Continue to provide all members of the group to get the adequate training to ensure the delivery and growth in leadership and management.
  • fill the gaps / missing items required by families eg. singlets seems to be something we do not receive from donors
