The New Anam Cara represents the next exciting phase in our vision for excellence in hospice and palliative care as part of the New Geelong. We will provide guests with greater flexibility and a purpose-built homelike facility for end-of-life care - a much-needed service for the community of Geelong and surrounding regions - that is accessible to all. Situated in a beautiful rural setting in Deakin University’s Waurn Ponds campus, our world class facility will be supported by a research and education partnership with Deakin’s School of Medicine and Faculty of Health.
Our Vision is that everyone has the opportunity to live with dignity, experience quality of life at end-of-life, and to die well in the place they choose. The focus of hospice care is on quality of life, symptom management and comfort. It caters for social, spiritual, emotional, physical and cultural needs and is a preferred method of care for those who don’t wish to spend an extended period of time cared for in a hospital environment.
We need the help of the Greater Geelong Community to complete this project.
What we do is special, improving quality of life and giving people choice in their final days. This is a unique once in a life-time opportunity to be a part of a Geelong led Community porject. Come on the journey with us and pledge your support...
