The past two years have been extremely challenging however we remain the vital link between 1.2 million kilograms of rescued food and 48,000 people across North-East Victoria and Southern NSW who receive access to nutritious food each year.

We are enormously proud of the volunteers at FoodShare who make sure food gets to where it is needed. The introduction of the Community Pantry program has helped so many who are struggling financially to put healthy food on the table for their families.

About FoodShare

We provide food equating to 1.55 million meals per year to over 48,000 people living in poverty across our region.

Over 1.2 million kilograms of food was collected last year from over 70 suppliers.

This is distributed to 225 regional agencies, educational institutions and community groups within a 150km radius of Albury-Wodonga who provide food relief to members of these communities struggling financially.

FoodShare's Community Pantry program was established two years ago, which enabled food hampers to be delivered directly to members of the community, particularly families who were requiring emergency food relief for the first time as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. The food hampers have been well received by the community with many individuals and agencies finding the new service very beneficial.

This service was expanded further last year with the opening of the FoodShare Shop. This service is accessible by anyone experiencing financial hardship to select their own grocery items from a wide range of fresh fruit and vegetables, pantry staple items, pre-prepared meals as well as personal hygiene, household items and pet food. 

We are almost entirely volunteer based with over 150 registered volunteers who work across the warehouse and administrative functions.
