Nearly one in six Australians - that's 4 million people - has arthritis. Arthritis Australia is a charitable, not-for-profit organisation and the peak arthritis consumer body in Australia. It is supported by affiliate offices in the ACT, New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania and Western Australia.

There is a widely held belief that arthritis is simply a consequence of age, the pain of growing old. But it is not a natural part of ageing. In fact half the people suffering from the disease are of working age.

How will the funds be used?

  • To fund research into the treatment, prevention and cure of arthritis
  • To provide support and information to people with arthritis as well as their family and friends
  • To advocate on behalf of health consumers to leaders in business, industry and government
  • To help raise awareness in the community
