At the Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) Brimbank Unit we are the primary rescue agency for storm, flood, earthquake and tsunami. We provide support and assistance to the City of Brimbank local council area. We lead the response capability for major weather events including severe wind and rain storms causing building and other infrastructure damage, road hazards, hail damage, riverine, flash floods and provide other support services that may be required during a declared emergency. 

We also assist Victoria Police with seraching for missing persons and crime scene preservation, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) with logistical and operational support and Ambulance Victoria with casualty handling and logistical support.

Our members are all unpaid volunteers that give up their time to help support the community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide emergency assistance during storms, floods and other weather events. 

As an emergency service under the Emergency Management Act, VICSES do not charge for our services (as it should be), however we are not fully funded unlike some of our other emergency service partners. We rely on our community's genosity to continue providing the service they need in times of crisis or emergency.
