Supporting student well-being & engagement at BSW

Help make these two key priorities a reality:

• Creating new sensory spaces across the school; and
• Installing a new sound and lighting system in the school hall.

Tax-deductible donations to the school’s Building Fund allow us to realise ongoing upgrades to learning facilities, social spaces and larger projects, supporting current and future generations of Brunswick South West students.

Creating new sensory spaces 

Student wellbeing is a central part of all aspects of life at Brunswick South West Primary School.  Our teachers use sensory activities and resources in classrooms to support students’ wellbeing and we have an Engagement and Wellbeing Team who are focused on ensuring that all students are able to access the curriculum at their point of need. One thing that we are really missing is dedicated sensory spaces that are intentionally designed and built to help students to regulate and focus, so they’re ready to learn and engage with others.  Funds contributed to the appeal will help us to design and create these new spaces for the benefit of all students.

Installing a new sound and lighting system in the school hall

Brunswick South West Primary School’s hall is a really special place. Used heavily throughout the school day. It’s a hive of activity with assemblies, sports and drama classes and various incursions like the recent Science Discovery Dome visit.  It’s been the venue for amazing Art Shows, fun filled discos and movie nights, and later this year will play host to the school’s theatre production, Alice in Wonderland! However, we do not have a sound system that allows for the use of a microphone; nor a lighting system to light the stage.

Students develop important skills through presenting, performing and celebrating together.  A new system will help to bring our school activities to life and also help to maximise use of the space.
