WHO WE ARE

Blacktown Youth Services Association (BYSA) is a youth-led, social impact organisation dedicated to nurturing young people and creating social change in the community. BYSA’s vision is to inspire, resource and empower all young people to positively transform their lives and communities.

Located within the heart of Blacktown, BYSA provides a vibrant sanctuary submerged in youth culture and creativity. Each year, over 4,000 young people access BYSA. Over the past 30 years of frontline service delivery, BYSA’s support services have had a positive impact on the lives of hundreds of thousands of young people.

WHAT WE DO

Holistic and personalised frameworks are used to improve the wellbeing of every young person. BYSA provides high impact support to ensure basic needs are met first before developing strategies to address the more complex challenges young people face. Basic needs include food, accommodation, counselling, hygiene products and clothing.

Many young people are affected by a range of issues including homelessness, mental health, drug and alcohol issues, violence and incarceration. BYSA is often their last resort to access the support they need to address the issues they face.  Using creative media, BYSA supports young people to think critically and creatively about how they can develop and contribute solutions to address these issues individually or within their communities.

HOW YOUR DONATION WILL HELP

Your donation will help us improve the lives of vulnerable young people. All donations go directly to providing a safe space, basic needs and individual support to over 4,000 young people each year.
