The Global Learning Foundation (supported by Grassroots Collective) needs your assistance to continue our building and support of the Child Hope School in Tanzania. Child Hope is a fully registered charity in Tanzania and the Global Learning Foundation has partnered with the Grassroots Collective in Australia to raise urgent funds to continue running Child Hope Tanzania into 2024 and beyond.
Child Hope School was a vision by Mt Peter Antony back in 2013 and is the first special needs school in Southern Tanzania. The government provides little support for children with disabilities and they are not allowed to learn in mainstream schools. Peter noticed the students sitting out the front of the local primary school in his village in Ubaruku, Tanzania and decided something had to be done.
In February 2018 the Global Learning Foundation built a 3 classroom school, installed a septic tank & toilet block, installed a rainwater catchment tank and guttering and built a kitchen whereby the ladies from the village could cook lunch for the 26 students currently enrolled. Enrollments are now well over 50 with a wait list.
We are currently supporting the wages of three teachers at the school, as well as food daily for the students and ongoing general expenses. We would love to fund a fence for the school, as well as continue paying teachers wages and supplying daily lunch for the students. A school bus has also been purchased to to transport children to and from school in rural areas safely, however needs ongoing fuel and servicing expenses covered
Furthermore the classrooms requires wheelchairs, chairs and specialised foam seating, mats, blackboards, bright murals, rails etc etc.
We would love your assistance to continue this world class facility in Tanzania- any donations big or small will go a long way.
Many thanks,
Global Learning Foundation Team :)
