Conversation in Isolation is a student-run charity that fights loneliness in our community and promotes social connection. We run multiple programs to promote social connection, including our flagship phone companionship program.
Since our inception in 2020, we've successfully touched the lives of more than 300 community members and 150 youth through the help of over 400 dedicated volunteers.
We know the importance of preventing loneliness to protect mental and physical health. Evidence has shown that social isolation increases the risk of many diseases, including heart disease and stroke, at a similar level to smoking.
However, in 2023 and beyond, we want to do more, particularly for youth and older Australians. We know that in person connections are the most powerful, so we've been organising two new programs to foster in person social connection. Our first program was launched with the highly successful event The Conversation Starter: Threads of Connection. But we're just getting started with our ambitious expansion, which is why we need your help!
Your generous donation will help us:
Together, we can promote social connection and fight loneliness together, one conversation at a time!
