Hi all, 

Flat Out, Sisters Inside, the National Network of Incarcerated & Formerly Incarcerated Women & Girls and Homes not Prisons are all raising funds to support Aunty Vickie Roach - proud Yuin woman and respected elder in the movement for care not punishment in Australia. 

A huge thanks to everyone who has contributed so far – and especially to the regular donors. Together we have maintained Aunt’s private rental for over two years. 

We’re so pleased to let you know that thanks to your help and some outstanding housing advocacy by people too numerous to mention, Aunt moved into a beautiful social housing apartment in late November 2025. 

Finally, Aunt is off the private rental treadmill, and we no longer need to raise $1300 a month for private rent! Phew. ! We can’t express what a difference you have made – all 400 of you! -  keeping aunt safely housed for the last two years.  Rent will now be 30% of Aunt’s pension + Rent Assistance – so should be manageable from here.

We do still need to raise $8000 for moving expenses and some furniture, appliances and modifications Aunt needs in the new apartment, so if you can throw in a final something, it would be so appreciated.

After this push we will keep the GiveNow open for anyone wanting to continue to support Aunt ongoing, but the emergency will hopefully be over!
