Hi Everyone

I am heading to Uganda in August to volunteer with I Am Someone, a not-for-profit organisation running grassroot community projects for vulnerable, abandoned children across Africa.

It’s something close to my heart I have been looking to get into for a while now, and this year all the pieces have started coming together.

I will be in Kasese (Southwest Uganda) from 8th-31st August 2024, doing all kinds of works – labouring, painting, admin, teaching, sports activities, and my personal favourite….storytelling.

The organisation has asked each volunteer to raise at least $2,500. All proceeds go directly to the projects we are partnering with to make a difference. (Project fundraising is seperate to personal expenses including flights, food, local transport etc.)

Where will your money go?
- employment of tradespeople
- building materials
- furniture, bedding, mosquito nets
- kitchen equipment
- seeds, plants and garden supplies
- school supplies
- clothing and personal items for children
- employment for childcare workers
