On Monday the 9th December, WA Seabird Rescue were made aware of an Raven entangled in fishing gear stuck high up in the branches of a Norfolk Pine at Point Walter. The bird had already been entangled for at least 24 hour hours with a forecast 36 degree day looming ahead.
With no way to access the bird from the ground, it was decided to call in the help of the experts. A fantastic tree lopping company came to our aide, but had to charge $600 to help with their costs. Using a very high tech cherry picker, we swiftly got 25 metres in the air to rescue the Raven.
WA Seabird Rescue are a voluntary organisation, operating on lean budgets and tight margins. But, when we got the call, we felt compelled to help. Are you able to chip in to support our costs, helping rescue this young bird in distress?
Also, I would be very grateful for you to share the link to this CrowdRaiser page to your friends and family. The more people who can help the better!
Thank you,
Matt
