Eco Barge Clean Seas Inc. mission is to minimize the devastating effects marine debris pollution has on marine life.

We do this by running a constant Marine Debris Removal Program for the Whitsunday Islands and surrounding coastlines and with the Whitsunday Turtle Rescue Centre to help care for sick and injured turtles for the Whitsunday and Mackay Region.

By removing the mass build up of plastic pollution and caring for marine turtles in need we are directly helping to protect the local marine life and all marine life in the Great Barrier Reef from the devastating effects plastic pollution causes to vulnerable sea creatures, great and small.

Our acheivements to date from July 2009 -

• Removed over 250 tonne of marine debris from the Whitsunday Islands
• Responded to over 250 turtle rescue calls and cared for over 200 turtles
• Removed 23,860 thousand kilos of marine debris from the Mackay and Sarina Beaches
• Conducted over 60 land based clean ups to prevent this litter becoming marine debris
• Currently have a database of over 2500 volunteers
• Recyled 5000 kgs of marine debris and made into a reusable product
• Over 8000 volunteers have helped us achieve these results !!!
