Foster Care Angels is a grassroots charity creating better futures for vulnerable young people. 

Founded by carers, support is provided in several ways.    

·       Supported Living

The harsh reality is that many foster children “transition to adulthood” on or very shortly after their 18th birthday. At a time when other teenagers are celebrating, finishing their HSC, preparing for their formal and booking schoolies week, foster children face an uncertain future. This “transition” is faced without adequate life skills or family support that ensures a pathway into isolation and significant representation in the criminal justice system, homelessness, teen pregnancies, self -harm, substance abuse and mental health issues. Our newest program combines secure long- term housing with wrap around services, counselling and mentoring to fully equip and support these young adults to reach their full potential.    

• A Maze In Mind Program

A unique early intervention program delivered either face to face, online via a secure classroom setting or via our interactive App, to empower and educate young adults in all aspects of life skills, preparing them for their transition to adulthood. One on one independent counselling is also available to some participants.            

·        Carer Conferences

Our 2 night Carer Conferences focus on foster carers who are at risk of placement breakdown and offers them a childfree, fully catered weekend with educational workshops and access to an independent counsellor.  The opportunity also enables the creation of a peer support network among those who truly understand the unique stresses that impact foster carers.

·       Christmas Drive

Each year, our Christmas Drive supports children and young adults living in alternative care arrangements such as hotels and motels, bringing a little bit of Christmas joy at an otherwise bleak time of year.

Foster Care Angels’ core goal is to create better futures for vulnerable young people. 

With the help of supporting organisations and community, we can help children with a care experience reach their full potential, and in so doing, make Australia a better place.
