We know it's a hard time for everyone.  We hope you and your family are staying well and safe at home.  We miss all of our volunteers and supporters and can't wait to be back in the classrooms of Gawura together again.  

Next week is Book Week - a fun week where we celebrate the magic of reading and always have our Book Week Parade (you might remember yours from school). The Gawura teachers would love to send books out to all of our students as a surprise.  The teachers and librarians have put togther a list of appropriate books for the children to choose from, and we know eveyrone loves receiving a package in the post. 

As you know, Gawura students start every day reading with a volunteer (like you) who gives up their time to help students improve their literacy.  Because of the generosity of donors we have so wonderful books at school that we love reading.

But we've been at home all term (and for three weeks prior on school holidays), and don’t have access to books like these.  St Andrew’s Cathedral School’s librarians have been sending e-books out but everyone needs time away from screens and there's nothing like curling up in the sun at home to read with a book in your hands. 

We just don't have the funds to buy new books for everyone.  We know it's a hard time and families are struggling.  If you don't have money to support Gawura's students please don't give this a second thought, but $60 will buy books for one student and we will be so grateful.
