Governor-General Camp Appeal - until 30 June 2024
On the occasion of a rare and remarkable Scouting event – the Governor-General Camp in the grounds of Government House, Yarralumla, ACT – the Arthur Shakespeare Foundation is running a special appeal to support local Scouts. Even though it is a small Branch of Scouts Australia, Scouts ACT is providing substantial support for this once-in-a-lifetime event, both personnel and resources. This appeal is to acknowledge and thank Scouts ACT for their contribution and give them the firepower to refresh and innovate their Scouting facilities, services and equipment, including at Camp Cottermouth.
Scouts ACT runs well over 1,000 out-of-hall activities each year for youth members from 5 to 26 years of age, in addition to more than 3,000 in-hall weekly scout meetings. That takes halls, tents, trailers, training and much more, but it's money well-spent. Since the ACT branch was established in 1981, over 40,000 young Canberrans have benefited from the best and most-loved youth development program in the world. Help us keep doing it!
