headspace Collingwood offers a free service to young people aged 12-25 years. The focus on services are to engage young people in talking about their health (mental and physical), their drug and alcohol use, issues with school/ work. We hope to reduce down barriers for positive help seeking and young people seeking help early.
Often we hear that it's difficult for young people to take that first step to asking for help so along side face to face counselling, headspace Collingwood works with the community and other agencies to deliver comprehensive services for young people who are difficult to engage. We try to think to consider creative options to engage young people in a different way including (but not limited to) offering art or dance groups, football programs, resilience, mindfulness programs and having a therapy dog on site. headspace Collingwood believe in working with others within our community to improve the health and wellbeing of young people especially those who are at risk of 'falling through the gaps'.
Any funds raised will go towards ensuring programs onsite and within the community are developed and sustained with an aim to:
engage young people around their health and wellbeing;
to support them to access appropriate help; and
to promote different ways to build resilience and positive self identity within young people.
Please check out our website and facebook page for regular updates on our programs and to see how donations are helping to change the lives of young people.
