The United Nationals Countryless Children (UNCC) Inc, is urgently seeking to raise $500,000 to purchase land and $200,000 to acquire and modify 20ft house containers to provide safe and secure emergency accommodation for homeless families with children. This initiative, Shelter in a Box, aims to offer temporary free housing for four months to assist families in securing long-term accommodation.

Homeless families, particularly mothers with children, are currently forced to sleep in cars, overcrowded motels, or unsafe environments. This crisis has a devastating impact on children’s education, mental health, and well-being. With the support of donors from across Australia, UNCC is determined to provide a dignified and safe solution to this escalating crisis.

Project Details
Objective: Provide secure, short-term housing solutions for homeless families with children through 20ft modified house containers, ensuring a stable transition period into permanent housing.

What We Need:

$500,000 to purchase land for crisis accommodation.
$200,000 for 20ft modified house containers, which will be installed on the acquired land.
20 movable toilet and shower units, each housed in a separate container, to ensure sanitation facilities are available for all families.
How Shelter in a Box Works
The initiative provides fully modified 20ft containers, each serving as a temporary home for homeless families with children.
Each family is provided free shelter for up to 4 months (three months fully free, and the fourth month to help them transition).
Families are connected to housing support services to help them secure a permanent home during their stay.
The program strictly serves families with children, ensuring a focused and impactful approach.
