Over 500 animals come into the shelter every year for treatment, with hundreds more being dispersed to other wildlife shelters that can accommodate them. Best practice requires that animals are kept close to their home habitats, or at least within the same geographic boundaries and habitat types. We take in all species of wildlife for treatment and rehabilitation. This requires specialised specialised foods, medications and housing. Enclosures must be adaptable and they need constant maintenance and replacement.
The daily management of the shelter is an enormous task. Other than the dailt tasks of caring for the wildlife, the support structres must be kept operational. Policies and procedures, food plans, management of consumables, volunteer orientation and training, intake data, internal communications and wildlife treatment rehabilitation plans all need to be developed, implimented and supoported.
