Sponsor Yung Prodigy: Elevate Lived Expertise Globally

Sponsor Yung Prodigy to Speak at the 2025 INCCIP Conference

Yung Prodigy, a youth-led organisation based in Australia, has an emerging opportunity  present at the 2025 International Coalition for Children With Incarcerated Parents (INCCIP) Conference in South Korea—a key global gathering on incarceration and its impacts for children and young people. This is a critical opportunity for us to elevate youth leadership, share decolonial solutions and influence international conversations on systemic change for the forgotten victims of crime.

Why This Matters

🔹 First Nations Incarceration: First Nations people are the most incarcerated people on the planet; as of 2025, Australia still holds this shameful title. This is not just an issue of individual imprisonment but a deliberate continuation of colonial violence that disrupts entire kinship structures. 66.4% of First Nations youth have reported expereinces of parental incarceration.

🔹Intergenerational Harm: Parental incarceration doesn’t just impact one person; it creates a cycle of systemic punishment across generations, disproportionately affecting racialised communities.

🔹 Youth-Led, Lived Expertise at the Forefront: Policies and interventions are often designed without the voices of those directly impacted. Yung Prodigy ensures young people are not just consulted but are leading the solutions.

🔹A Decolonial Approach to Justice: Our work goes beyond out of touch responses currently in place when it comes to youth practise. We push for community-driven, culturally grounded alternatives that prioritise healing over punishment.

🔹Global Knowledge Exchange: This conference is an opportunity to share and learn from international movements, strengthening global coalitions fighting against punitive systems.
