Well it seems that the half Ironman last year wasn't enough, so this time I'm back for the FULL hog (or maybe I've just *fully* lost the plot)... and I have entered myself into Ironman Western Australia !! On the 1st of December I will set out for a 3.8km swim, 180km on the bike and a 42.2km run.

To put this in context - only about 0.01% of the population have completed a full Ironman and just over 18 months ago, I didn't own a bike, could barely run a single kilometre and had never ocean swum in my life - so to be ready for something like this is pretty cool if you ask me.

It has taken an absolutely monumental effort, but it's all for an absolutely amazing cause - my favourite charity ever!

Last year I raised $5,000 for Uni Camp for Kids through my Ironman 70.3 fundraiser, and given I'm now doing the full... we are running with the theme of DOUBLE OR NOTHING! A huge aim for a huge event and I truly couldn't think of a more deserving or impactful charity.

Uni Camp for Kids is a charity very close to my heart and I thought what better cause to support with this endeavour, than our upcoming January 2025 Summer Camps. I have given well over 1500 hours of my time to UCFK since I started volunteering in 2017 and I can't wait to spend another week on Camp with the charity very soon, this time as the deputy director (or head freelancer for those who are familiar with camps)!

UCFK provides week-long summer camps at Point Peron every January, as well as five day-long picnics each year, for Perth's most socially, emotionally and/or financially underprivileged children. These programs foster a warm, familiar environment that children in out-of-home care are often deprived of. Our Picnics and Camps serve as much-needed distractions from their difficult circumstances and provide respite for families and carers.

Any generosity goes a long way with giving these kids the best week of their year, and donations help to preserve the magic of Uni Camp for Kids.

$25 pays for one child's Camp hat and t-shirt
$60 pays for lunch for one Camp family group
$80 pays for one child's breakfasts all week
$100 pays for one child's entry into all venues on a Camp
$350 pays for an entire camp's sunscreen
$500 pays for an outrageously large bouncy castle to come to Point Peron

Thank you so much for your support and generosity!
