The Jacinta Dwyer Research Internship gives students and early career professionals a unique opportunity to engage in real-world law reform work—to see the justice system from multiple perspectives, learn from Women's Legal Service Victoria lawyers, social workers, financial counsellors, and policy staff, and contribute to projects that drive systemic improvements.
This paid research internship is an opportunity for final year or honours students in law, social work, community development or financial counselling to undertake research aimed at delivering practice improvement and better outcomes for people experiencing family violence.
The internship was established to honour the legacy of Jacinta Dwyer—a compassionate lawyer, a dedicated Magistrate, and a much-admired staff member of Women’s Legal. The internship is more than just an opportunity for professional development—it is a commitment to continuing Jacinta’s life’s work of advocating for women’s safety, strengthening the justice system, and ensuring that legal services are responsive to the needs of victim-survivors of family violence.
Your generous contribution will invest in the future generation of family violence policy researchers and reform.
The Jacinta Dwyer Research Internship is supported by Women’s Legal Service Victoria and the Victorian Magistrates Association.
