Juno's Winter Appeal: The Cost of Staying Safe

About this cause

Juno needs your support this winter to help people rebuild after family violence and homelessness.

Leaving violence is only the first step. For many people, staying safe means starting again with little notice, few belongings, and far away from everything familiar.

Rebuilding after your life has been uprooted is overwhelming. And it is expensive.

For the people we support every day, it can mean stretching groceries to get through the week, or going without meals altogether. It can mean scraping together money for petrol to get children to school and hold onto some sense of normalcy after being forced to relocate. It can mean enduring cold homes without enough heating, bedding or warm clothing because there simply isn’t room in the budget.

These are the real costs of starting over after violence.

As cost of living pressures rise, more people are turning to Juno for support — putting growing pressure on our services. Your donation today will help us provide practical support to people who need it most as they rebuild after violence and homelessness.

Your tax-deductible donation can provide:

  • $75 can help cover the cost of fuel so someone can get to appointments, keep their children in school, and stay connected to support
  • $120 can help put groceries on the table and cover essentials such as hygiene products for a family starting again
  • $300 can help set up a comfortable, warm home with essentials like bedding, heating and basic household items
  • $1,000 can provide flexible support such as a week of safety for a family in emergency accommodation

This winter, your donation can help ease the financial pressure of starting again so the people we support can focus on healing, stability, and their future.

If you can, please give to Juno's Winter Appeal today.

Donations of $2 and over are tax-deductible. Juno supports close to 400 women, trans and gender diverse people, and children experiencing family violence and homelessness each year to find housing, stay safe, access essential items, rebuild after trauma, and work towards long-term independence through employment coaching and recovery programs.
