Kickin4Kids is a campaign of Variety, the Children's Charity (SA) containing a suite of annual activities which raise funds to support Variety's Freedom program which helps children in need gain mobility and independence.

Since inception, Kickin4Kids has contributed over $600,000 to Variety's Freedom program in South Australia.

The first Kickin4Kids program in 2007 featured a Radiothon on FIVEaa which featured again in 2008. The 'Schools Kickathon' was an additional activity which linked in with the Crows, the Power and the SANFL's junior football programs which saw children participating within their schools in a physical exercise to raise money for children in need.

As Variety Kickin4Kids is a constantly evolving fundraising program, new concepts are developed each year to assure not only maximum participation, but to also maintain the fun in the fundraising, a Variety prerequisite!

2008 saw the debut of the first fundraising trek, 'Highlights of the Heysen', which not only raised over $130,000 net for children in need, but also aired on Channel Nine in the form of a one hour documentary produced and led by local TV identity, Troy Gray.

Variety Kickin4Kids' second fundraising trek took place in October 2009 on South Australia's idyllic Kangaroo Island with a net result of $227,000 achieved, the most successful Kickin4Kids campaign to date.

In October 2010, the third trek installment, the Variety Kickin4Kids 'Port to Port Trek', will commence in historic Port Adelaide finishing six days later in beautiful Port Lincoln. Along the way, trekkers will enjoy several interesting modes of transport with overnight stopovers in some truly iconic towns of SA.

Variety Kickin4Kids has helped hundreds of children in SA gain mobility, freedom, independence, and the chance to join in the life of their community through the provision of wheelchairs, leg splints, standing frames, prosthetics and wheelchair lifter conversions to motor vehicles.
