In 2021, students of Brady House SRC and Brady Leaders heard from Sr Taabeia Ibouri. Taabeia is a Sister of the Good Samaritan who grew up on a remote pacific island in the nation of Kiribati.
After hearing her touching story and learning about the Kiribati schools being short on learning resources, Brady students decided to raise funds to buy new books for the children who attend the Good Samaritan Early Childhood Centre in Abakoro. Although the efforts were delayed due to remote learning, Brady House launched our fundraiser and students raised over $650. We thank students and their families for their generous contributions!
In 2022 we are again fundraising for the Sisters' work in Kiribati, focusing on the Good Samaritan Early Childhood Centre and a new Centre they are hoping to open in the old convent building after Sr Taabeia returns to Kiribati. We aim to raise $2,000 this year to support these goals.
