Live4Life Baw Baw launched in 2020 to empower young people across Baw Baw Shire with vital mental health education. Delivered in partnership with eight secondary schools and education centres, Latrobe Regional Health, Baw Baw Shire Council, and community agencies, the program trains students as Mental Health Ambassadors, supports schools to deliver Teen Mental Health First Aid training and offers subsidised Youth Mental Health First Aid training for adults in the community.
Since its inception, more than 4,000 students have undertaken Teen Mental Health First Aid, 470 adults have completed community training, and over 240 young people have stepped up as youth mental health ambassadors (Crew members) to lead peer‑driven mental health awareness activities in their schools.
The program is sustained through grants, community sponsorships, and donations from local organisations, community groups, service clubs, and individuals. Your support ensures this important work continues — through funding education, training, and peer‑led initiatives that build resilience, we can equip young people to recognise when they or someone else is struggling and promote early help-seeking behaviours to reduce the severity of mental health challenges. The Baw Baw Live4Life Partnership believes as a community, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of Baw Baw’s young people.
All donations above $2 are tax deductible through Live4Life Baw Baw's partnership with Kindred Spirits Enterprises.
