Support independent dancers this AusArt Day
Lucy Guerin Inc (LGI) is taking part in the first ever AusArt Day, a new national day of giving that celebrates and sustains artists and arts organisations across Australia.
We’re inviting you to join us in bringing to life The Forest, an ambitious new dance work choreographed by Lucy Guerin and featuring seven exceptional dancers. Premiering in 2026, The Forest reflects the many identities that forests hold in the human imagination, as spaces of beauty, mystery and transformation.
As a small (but mighty) company, LGI’s impact is made possible through the generosity of our partners and donors. Your support helps us create bold new works like The Forest, tour them nationally and internationally, and deliver programs that nurture artists at every stage of their careers. Together, we keep LGI thriving as a vital hub for contemporary dance.
Funds raised will go directly towards employing dancers and creatives. Throw your support behind independent artists this AusArt Day and donate to LGI.
About The Forest
The Forest is a contemporary dance work exploring our deep connection to nature, both as a nurturing, life-giving force and as a site of mystery, darkness and transformation.
Through intricate movement and a lush musical score, The Forest embodies the organic patterns of trees and the unseen systems that connect them. It delves into the realm of myth and eco-horror, revealing how our imaginations and fears shape our understanding of the natural world.
In a time of environmental uncertainty, The Forest invites us to reflect on our relationship with nature and the urgent need to protect it.
