MADEC is a not-for-profit, community organisation that has been providing disability and youth support in the Mackay and Whitsunday regions since 1973. We support young people and persons with a disability to be part of the community, empowering them to lead rewarding lives.
For young people, this means delivering services like out-of-home residential care and our Youth Empowerment & Support Service (YESS) which connects young people (12-21 years old) with organisations, services and pathways to reach beyond their present circumstances. For persons with a disability, our services include Supported Independent Living (SIL), Community Access and experiences, Short-term Accommodation, Support Coordination and NDIS Plan Management. These services each allow persons with a disability to live independent lives, be connected to their community and receive person-centred support that is empowering, safe and local.
Our vision is to create an inclusive community that empowers, supports and respects all individuals, and our mission is to empower and support people to do their best!
