For the last 40 years, Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras has provided a creative platform for the community to celebrate its achievements, protest and bring global attention to LGBQTI human rights. Our community is always changing but our purpose remains the same.

We have come a long way since 1978, when a small group of brave activists marched to celebrate international Gay Pride. They were met with oppression, but paved the way to the diverse culture that we honour today. 40 years later, Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras (Mardi Gras), is one of the largest celebrations of social justice and diversity in the world.

40TH FOUNDATION CIRCLE

As an important part of our family we are inviting you to be an inaugural member of the 40th Foundation Circle, to leave a legacy for the next 40 years of Evolution of Mardi Gras.

As a member of the 40th Foundation Circle you will be part of a special group of invited supporters invested in the future of Mardi Gras. Members give donations of $2,000 or more to enable support programs with a focus on social justice and increase access for isolated communities to participate in Mardi Gras.
