Support Milk Crate Theatre

Milk Crate Theatre provides opportunities for people whose voices are under-represented to engage in artistic practice to build confidence, skills and connections; and shares bold and resonant stories to build empathy and break down barriers. Since 2016 we have supported 679 Collaborative Artists, offered 564 workshops, created 9 new theatre works and reach an audience of 11,723.

Your support allows us to increase our impact, extend our reach and to make new creative projects with our communities.

Here are some examples of how your contribution supports our work:

  • $50 provides nutritious snacks and a warm beverage to Collaborative Artists during our workshops, to support connection and wellbeing
  • $100 provides supplies and workshop materials so our Collaborative Artists can document their creative process
  • $500 supports the creation of props and costumes for workshop showings and performances
  • $1000 allows us to hire Support Artists for a workshop series or a film artist to document our processes
  • $5000 supports the creation of new performances and films. Professional artists facilitate projects where participants are encouraged to contribute ideas, share stories, and engage in creative expression within a safe and supported environment.

From all the team at Milk Crate Theatre, we sincerely thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you at one of our events in the near future.

In all that we do, we acknowledge that the foundations of Milk Crate Theatre are on Gadigal land of the Eora Nation and that wherever we create, we walk in the footprints of the ancestors that were here before us. We pay respects to the tradition of storytelling of the First Peoples, practiced by the earth’s longest living culture and pay homage to this. We embrace those stories of the past and continue to share stories of the now. We pay respect to Elders past, present and to walk side by side, hand in hand for a healing future. Sovereignty was never ceded, and we acknowledge those who have nurtured and respected the land for generations before us. (Co-written with Peta-Joy Williams, a Wiradjuri woman and artist, and Jessica Pantano)
