Founded in 1987 and incorporated in 1992, The Muslim Women's Support Centre (MWSC) is a specialised agency working with the Muslim communities. We endeavour to promote better health, self-esteem, personal and spiritual growth as well as the general wellbeing of Muslim women and their families. The organisation also works in cooperation with other service providers, to foster positive relationships and understanding between Muslims and the broader society.

For more than a decade, our core funding was provided through a government grant. This funding ceased in June 2012 due to policy changes. As the demand for all our services persists, we are now appealing for assistance from the community to help maintain the organisation and help it grow to become self-sustainable.

The minimum operational costs for the organisation are around $50,000 per year. This would cover rent, essential insurance, security and other running costs. We are confident you can help us raise this. If 200 people pledge $250 per year this will allow us to run the much-needed services on an on-going basis. $250 per year equates to $0.70c per day - less than one cup of coffee a day! At present, we are running the organisation entirely with the help of   volunteers. Currently, we support between 80-90 families a month through material support which includes food assistance through our food pantry. Your donation will help sustain the organisation that means a lot to many in our community.
