Nepean Community & Neighbourhood Services

A little about what we do:

NCNS is an innovative grass-roots organisation based from six centres in the Penrith LGA. We work through a model of partnership and collaboration, providing quality programs to support disadvantaged and vulnerable members of the local community to enable strength, inclusion and respect

An important element of our work is provided through Koolyangarra, our Aboriginal Family Centre in Cranebrook - which is the hub for our large range of Aboriginal support and community programs.

100% of your donation goes to our local community!

A little about what your donation can do for our community:
  • Provide breakfast to our young people through our Breakfast Club at Cranebrook. Young people from the local schools drop in each morning for a nutritious breakfast, ensuring they are ready to learn, and encouraging them to attend school. At the same time, we get to provide emotional support to these young people, and get them help when we need it.
  • Help Aboriginal kids learn about their culture in our Aboriginal Children's Dance and Cultural Group. This group gives kids in care the opportunity to learn about their culture, maintain their culture, and grow in self-confidence. They are invited to perform at civic events, boosting their self-esteem even further.
  • Assist our Aboriginal Tuturing program. Education is the single most important and effective way we can turn things around for our kids. We have had many instances of a child's reading increasing 2 to3 levels in just 8 weeks! We provide pre- and post- testing to ensure we are getting it right.
