With your support, we aim to improve the lives of people living in remote Australia both socially and economically.

We recognise the potential of remote Australia, and our work provides opportunities for its residents to thrive. 

We do this by conducting research and running programs, which:

• support education that increases the economic participation of Australians living in remote areas
• assist in protecting the natural environment within remote Australia
• understand the impact of climate change on the remote Australian environment
• contribute to and improve the social, emotional, mental health and wellbeing of remote Australian discreet community residents
• support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to maintain their distinct cultural values and identity, while also providing opportunities to participate fully in the economic,social and cultural life of Australia.

The Foundation is proudly chaired by Prof. Tom Calma AO, who is also Chancellor of the University of Canberra.
