To organise ecumenical services, workshops and other events
To promote contact between Heads of member Churches and raise matters of common interest
To support five commissions which address issues of concern of the Council: Domestic Violence, Interfaith, Middle East, Peace and Justice, Theological Reflections
To maintain contact with local inter-church councils, support local church covenants and to maintain contact with member churches in regional NSW to encourage ecumenical work
To host events when ecumenical leaders visit Australia
To promote the work of the Council with other faith communities, Government departments, other organisations and participate in their events and participate in public events.
