Every year the Nursing and Midwifery Health Program Victoria (NMHPV) personally supports some of the neediest of our 95,000 nurses, midwives and students with their sensitive health concerns.
Every one of these health professionals plays an integral role in caring for the health and wellbeing of others in our community.
You can help us to ensure Victoria's health services have healthy nurses and midwives, caring for you and your loved ones!
Why is NMHPV collecting funds?
NMHPV looks after the health and wellbeing of nurses and midwives who unfailingly deliver safe and effective care for our communities.
We need to make sure nurses and midwives are educated about the importance of keeping healthy and to make sure that they receive help when needed.
How will collected funds be used?
NMHPV aims to:
- Educate the nursing industry to know the importance of making personal health a priority.
NMHPV has strong working relationships with the profession's regulator, employers of nurses and midwives, industrial experts and other stakeholders. We circulate health information and deliver forums through these bodies across Victoria.
- Research into finding better ways of supporting our precious nursing and midwifery workforce. Research into nursing can be analysed to develop strategies to prevent illness and injury within our industry, along with the design of the most effective treatment responses.
- Challenge the stigma associated with seeking help. Obtaining help for a sensitive health issue for nurses or midwives can be scary, confusing and embarrassing. It's not always easy to reach out. We offer these education services to all industry stakeholders, free of charge.
