Biyani House Revesby Women’s Shelter pays respect to the local Traditional people of the Salt Pan Creek area, the Bidjigal (also known as Bediagal), a clan group of the coastal Dharug people of the Sydney region, who have lived here for over 60,000 years. Their land covers Salt Pan Creek, Revesby, and the estuarine surrounds north of Georges River.
We proudly acknowledge Australia’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and their rich culture, and pay respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as Australia’s first people and as the Traditional Owners and custodians of the land and water on which we rely.
We recognise and value the ongoing contribution of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities to Australian life and how this enriches us. We embrace the spirit of reconciliation, working towards the equality of outcomes and ensuring an equal voice.
