Lucy is a beautiful mature aged lady rescued from Tamworth. She came to us with no known history and very underweight. Whilst gaining some weight in our case, Lucy has now become very sick and blood tests indicate that her thyroid hormones are through the roof, indicating hyperthyroidism. Lucy needs to have toxic growths on one or both of her thyroid glands removed, which will involve one or more surgeries.
The hyperthyroidism has also impacted Lucy’s other organs and her blood tests show compromised kidney and liver function. At this stage, our vets cannot say if this is a side effect of the hyperthyroidism which will improve following the thyroid surgery, or if there is another issue or permanent damage causing this response.
Lucy is a gorgeous, friendly girl with a gentle and sweet nature who loves nothing more than cuddling and being near her humans. She has so much life left in her and so much love to give and has a family waiting in the wings for her.
We are an entirely volunteer run organisation and do not receive any government funding. We never give up on any animal we have rescued, and we are committed to giving Lucy the veterinary care needed so she can go on and have the best possible life. We just need a bit of help with the vet costs and are reaching out to the animal loving community.
If we raise more than is required for Lucy's vet vet, any additional funds will remain in our gift account to be used for vet work for other rescued animals.
If you would like to donate towards Lucy’s care direct to our bank account, rather than through the Give Now platform –
