The Reservoir Neighbourhood House is established to be a charity whose purpose is to advance social and public welfare by providing direct relief to those experiencing disadvantage through disability, economic, homelessness, family violence, mental health issues, substance addiction and abuse/misuse, distress or misfortune in the community.
The Reservoir Neighbourhood House (RNH) provides a welcoming community space that fosters and promotes the prosperity and wellbeing of local residents. We bring people together to develop and encourage employment prospects, support health and wellbeing and enhance belonging. RNH is a place where everyone is welcome to learn and actively participate in building their community life.
RNH was opened in 2009. As a purpose built facility, it is fully accessible and equipped to handle large community groups with several rooms including a computer room, free internet access, a large lounge area and commercial grade kitchen. The House services one of Darebin’s most disadvantaged areas. Most of our activities are free or based on a gold coin donation. We work closely with community members living in public housing, and those experiencing vulnerability through various disadvantage/s, to build confidence, identify and develop skills and knowledge, and strengthen community.
We are looking for funding to help us to continue to provide essential services/programs for our community so they can have opportunities to participate, grow, learn, share, experience and develop their community life.
