Rollercoaster Theatre is a not-for-profit ensemble of actors with intellectual disabilities and Neurodivergent performers from a wide range of backgrounds with a mission to challenge broadly held misconceptions of disability. We create artistic work that defies expectations and challenges stereotypes. Having worked together for over 15 years, we’ve been instrumental in creating ongoing opportunities and raising the profile of actors with disabilities in Melbourne. The ensemble works alongside a team of industry professionals to create inclusive work showcasing the abilities and unique perspectives of all people. Our performances are shown in the diverse contexts of established theatre venues, corporate functions, educational forums and community festivals. We aim to artistically celebrate diverse perspectives and bring marginalised voices to the fore.

As an organisation rooted in the power of storytelling, Rollercoaster Theatre respectfully acknowledges the sovereignty and songlines of the Bunurong Boon Wurrung people and the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people, of the the Eastern Kulin Nation, who are the traditional owners of the land on which we create. We pay our respects to Elders who have been the storytellers of this land since time immemorial.
