SAS take into their care, and then place into foster homes, unwanted dogs and cats who have been surrendered for reasons, such as, family break-up, financial hardship, relocating, or pet owners being too busy. SAS also rescue dogs from Pounds where their outcome is questionable. Rehabilitation of these pets can be lengthy due to previous lack of care, attention, training or abuse. With the help of our foster carers we are able to reach the point when these pets are able to be rehomed with a new family who is suitable and compatible to their needs. Every unwanted pet deserves a second-chance. SAS are committed to achieving a lasting relationship between our rescue pet and the new family. Helping SAS will enable more pets to be saved, rehabilitated and placed in their "forever" home.
How will the funds be used?
The desexing, heartworm test and worming are covered by the adoption fee. However, many pets require additional work, such as, a dental, lump removal, diagnostic procedures, and ongoing medications, etc. There are sometimes congenital defects that can be rectified with simple corrective surgery. Every pet deserves this extra care.
