About this cause

Join our Salesian College Chadstone Community in helping to provide an education and improve opportunities for underprivileged youth in Samoa.

Through our Walkathon and Feast Day celebrations we empower our young people to discover their own intrinsic goodness, while developing the skills and courage to express it in practical ways, it is at the core of the Salesian Charism.

When proceding with your donation, you will be requested to select the House of the student you are sponsoring, either Annecy, Collinson, Moroney or Savio.

Though the Walkathon Fundraising event and Feast Day activities, we encourage our students to experience Samoan culture and gain a greater understand of the challenges faced by Samoan youth.

With 50% of Samoa’s population under the age of 20, and youth unemployment at almost 18%, both Salesian Schools in Samoa - Don Bosco Technical Centre (DBTC) in Alafua and the Don Bosco Technical and Vocational College (DBTVC) in Salelologa, are providing education and training that is focused on teaching employable skills, ensuring all students have the ability and opportunities to develop a career and obtain employment.

Your sponsorship will:

  • Improve the computer classroom facilities as the room consisted of a few computers and a teacher projecting their screen while the students observed.
  • Update and purchase computer equipment and a printer.
  • Create a comfortable digital learning environment that meets the needs of the growing student population to improve learning outcomes.
  • Increase student confidence in using technology for research, assignments and projects.
  • Prepare students for further studies, vocational training and employment opportunities.
  • Enhance classroom engagement through visual presentation and practical learning.
