The Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) - Melton Unit has been serving the Melton community since 1973. We are made up of about 30 dedicated members. We are volunteers that serve our community 24 hours, 7 days a week during storms, floods and other emergencies.

We are the primary emergency for storm, flood, earthquake and tsunami. We lead the response to major weather events including severe wind and rainstorms causing building and other infrastructure damage, road hazards, hail damage, riverine and flash floods.

We also assist Victoria Police with searching for missing persons and crime scene preservation, Country Fire Authority (CFA) and Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) with logistical and operational support and Ambulance Victoria with casualty handling and logistical support.
