VICSES Corio Unit

Victoria State Emergency Service - Corio Unit (VICSES)

ABOUT US

VICSES is the control agency for flood, storm, tsunami, earthquake and landslide throughout Victoria.  It serves Victorians 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing advice in emergency preparedness, assistance in minimising the impact of emergencies and strengthening community resilience in their aftermath.  VICSES also provides the largest road crash rescue network in Australia.

VICSES Corio Unit is headquartered in Lovely Banks, with a group of dedicated volunteers who respond to emergencies 24/7.  Our general rescue boundary covers approximately 710 square kilometres, from Staughton Vale, Balliang and Little River in the north, to Drumcondra, North Geelong, Bell Park, Bell Post Hill, and Batesford in the south.

FUNDING

VICSES Corio Unit receives funding from a variety of sources including government, grants and public donations.

These funds go toward the purchase of new vehicles and equipment, capital projects such as building improvements, and general day-to-day maintenance and running expenses.
