Your support will assist our work which is based on peer support, where the role of lived experience is central, ensuring empathy and understanding.   Each year, SHARC works with over 9000 individuals and families, providing peer support, education, counselling, advocacy, family support and recovery housing.

SHARC programs include:

  • Family Drug and Gambling Help - supporting families affected by the alcohol, drug or gambling habits of a family member. Includes community education, peer support groups, family counselling and a 24/7 helpline (1300 660 068) staffed by volunteers with lived experience.
  • Peer Projects - promoting and facilitating the engagement of peer workers in the delivery of drug treatment services.
  • Residential Peer Programs - supporting those on their recovery journey with stable accomodation, counselling and life skills. Programs include Oxford Houses; Understanding & Support Women's Recovery Program; and the Recovery Support Services (RSS) for young people up to 25 years.
  • Association of Participating Service Users (APSU)- ensuring the voice of people using alcohol and drug services is central to policy and service development.

To continue this work, we need and value your help.
