Over the last four years, our support for siblings of people with disability/chronic illness has been reliant on funding received through an ILC grant. Funding through this grant ceases on June 30. Whilst we do have some financial reserves which enable us to continue operating and delivering our existing programs in the short term, this is not a sustainable long term business model.
Our current funding ceases at the end of the month (June 30). Our work to try to ensure our financial sustainability means that we were successful in a smaller grant application to deliver a new program through ILC funding. However, this funding will not sustain us to continue to deliver our existing supports such as SibConnect, SibChat, SibSupport, SibWise and SibWorks or continue to develop our supports for KidSibs. Our current programs will therefore not be funded after 30 June and may need to cease in the medium-term.
We are investigating every option to secure our financial future and enable us to continue our current programs and supports, and importantly, deliver new supports to siblings where the need has already been identified.
How can you help? We are calling on supporters, like you, to help us continue to deliver our important work. We know cost of living has impacted every aspect of our lives, but as a registered charity, any donation over $2 is tax deductible. If you’re able to make a donation before June 30, you can claim this in your 2023/2024 tax return.
