In 2019 the Volunteer Association celebrates 60 years of caring for the community. The free childminding facility we provide at " The Playspace" continues to be one of our most valued services not just to patients and visitors but also to hospital community as it enables them to attend to a "Stress-Free" patient as they are secure in the knowledge that their child is looked after.

This free service is becoming increasingly important with Lyell McEwin Hospital seeing a diverse client base. Very often new immigrants have zero support systems and extended families to fall back on for informal babysitting. Very often they cannot afford the cost of a baby sitter and our service is a lifeline, allowing them to attend medical and diagnostic appointments. 

Help us continue this invaluable service by  supporting our "Celebrate 6 Decades of Caring" fundraiser to raise funds that will keep childminding free at the Lyell McEwin Hospital.

The fundraiser is asking for a small donation of $6 (or multiples of 6) and aims to raise 60,000 before the end of this year to help them provide a safe, nurturing and free space for children of patients and visiting families.

 6 is the motherhood number, it is all about caring, healing and protecting.
