Right now, farming families and rural communities are facing enormous pressures.

Damage from rain has meant heartbreak for many – destroying fields, severely reducing crop yields, disabling machinery, damaging homes and wiping incomes. 

People are returning to their flood-damaged homes after dwelling in caravans or with family for the past year.

Families in the Tara, Miles and Chinchilla regions have lost everything as firefighters continue to battle 18 massive Western Downs blazes. Fires have so far destroyed more than 4,000h.

Downs & West Community Support gives direct and practical support to farming families and their communities in South-West Queensland.
